(i) Addiction Treatment

At Bridge Centres' addiction treatment facility you will never feel that you are put into a "one-type-suits-all" addiction treatment program because we recognize that everyone is different and has different needs and always provide individualized treatment to meet your needs.

Addiction Treatment and Medical Detox

The initial phase of our drug addiction treatment is drug detox. Here you will be evaluated by a board-certified physician who will design a detox protocol to manage your withdrawal symptoms. There are two goals in our medical detox program; medical stabilization and the assessment of each patient to determine their need for ongoing addiction treatment. Before you can receive addiction treatment, a professional clinical assessment will be done to determine your addiction treatment needs. Then, treatment matching will take place. You will receive a personalized treatment program in order to ensure that you receive the kind of treatment that is most likely to produce a positive outcome, which in the best case scenario would mean an addiction-free lifetime of recovery. As you go through the treatment process, the effectiveness of your individual treatment program will be examined and modified to match your progress and meet your changing needs.

(ii) Drug Addiction Recovery

Bridge Centre has designed an exceptional drug addiction recovery program which provides a combined state-of-the-art dual diagnosis treatment program with alcohol rehabilitation and drug rehab. Bridge Centre has been recognized as one of the leaders in the field of alcohol rehabilitation and drug rehab because our drug addiction recovery program attends to the multiple needs of the individual and not just his or her drug use. Treatment addresses drug use as well as any associated medical, psychological, social, vocational and legal problems. Every patient admitted to our addiction treatment program can expect the following:

  • A thorough medical, psychological and psychiatric evaluation by physicians and specialists in addiction medicine and detoxification
  • Nursing and clinical assessment
  • Development of an effective, individualized drug addiction treatment plan and recovery plan

(iii) Alcohol Rehab

The Bridge Centre alcohol rehab program treats alcoholism. Alcoholism, also known as alcohol dependence, has been identified as a disease with a definite set of signs and symptoms. This disease includes an intense craving for alcohol and one's continued drinking despite negative consequences.

(iv) Drug Rehab

Drug rehab has come a long way from times when their agenda was strictly based solely on behavioral change. We now know this was a short term cure, as patients shortly returned to their drug addiction. It is now known that drug addiction is a disease negatively impacting the physical, emotional and spiritual aspects of the human being. All three components require rehabilitation for the patient to enjoy a full recovery. At Bridge Centre we provide holistic drug rehab to treat the whole person.

(v) Dual Diagnosis Treatment

Dual diagnosis treatment, is a term used to describe treatment for the coexistence of drug addiction / alcoholism and a psychiatric disorder. Research has shown us that people with psychiatric problems are more prone to drug addiction and alcoholism and we have found that almost 50 percent of people in addiction treatment, experience a psychiatric problem of one kind or another. With this in mind, it is very difficult in early recovery to correctly diagnose the addict or alcoholic. The reason for this is that while in detox and withdrawing from addictive substances, many of the symptoms people exhibit and experience mimic psychiatric symptoms. While every patient is provided with a psychiatric consultation to rule out or acknowledge the existence of a psychiatric disorder, we have found it to be in the best interest of our patients to try and wait until they are medically stable before making a dual diagnosis or any firm diagnosis. If a patient reports a high level of discomfort, accompanied by symptoms, we address their situation immediately. Understand, many addicts and alcoholics, unknowingly, used drugs and alcohol as a means to cope with an untreated psychiatric disorder. What they didn't realize was that continued use would become an addiction, turning any already complex situation into an even more complicated one.

(vi)Drug Addiction Relapse Prevention

Drug addiction relapse is certainly an area of concentration at Bridge Centre. We are a drug addiction treatment facility whose entire focus lies in assisting the addict or alcoholic to achieve and maintain quality long term recovery. Our Alumni Coordinator reports that our patients continually state that one of the main reasons they have been able to maintain their recovery is due to the effectiveness of our Drug Addiction Relapse Prevention Program.

Relapse Prevention

Relapse prevention at Bridge Centre provides patients with new and effective strategies to deal with flawed thought patterns, old behavior and triggers which create cravings for drugs, alcohol or self destructive behavior. Drug addiction relapse prevention teaches people recovering from various addictions to cope more effectively with the stressors or triggers in their environment related to alcoholism and drug addiction. Drug addiction and alcoholism are diseases of the brain that, when not treated effectively, result in chronic drug addiction relapse.

(vii) Drug Rehab Aftercare

Drug rehab aftercare is an intricate and necessary part of the rehab experience at Bridge Centre. We believe that alcohol rehab or drug rehab is just the beginning of the recovery process and everyone will require continued support. Regardless of how much you have accomplished or how resistant you have been in addiction treatment, we are treating a disease that does not just “go away”, once you've completed treatment. You need rehabilitation treatment aftercare. The way that we help you to keep your disease in remission and stay in recovery is to develop an effective relapse prevention plan in conjunction with an aftercare plan. Our after-care programs is open to all those who have completed their treatment, and it further teaches our cliients how to have clean, healthy fun.

Bridge To Recovery (BTR)

Continuing support upon completion of drug and alcohol treatment is the key to a healthy recovery from addiction. Treatment is just the beginning of a lifelong process of growth and recovery in all areas of life that have been affected by drug addiction and alcoholism. In order to provide a complete, supportive continuum of care, The Bridge Center provides Aftercare for program graduates/ alumni. Clients participating in Aftercare have usually completed our residential treatment programs. Although they have completed a more intensive level of care generally referred to as primary treatment, clients are more likely to be successful in maintaining abstinence if they are involved in recovery activities on a long term basis. TBCs Aftercare program consists of a daily group facilitated by an experienced counselor who helps guide clients in their recovery efforts, assisting them in meeting the goals contained in their continuing care plans. Aftercare is a forum in which clients may explore successes, obstacles, and day to day issues that confront them, receiving feedback and support from the group facilitator and other participants. Graduates of our programs are also encouraged to attend Alumni meetings and events. Alumni Association activities include quarterly picnics activities, and sponsorship for new clients. The Aftercare program is designed to provide ongoing support in the form of structured activities that include clients, alumni, staff, families, and the community. Our alumni group BTR (Bridge to Recovery) also uses popular media i.e. Facebook and email to ensure members stay in touch and updated on issues, events and information about their common goal SUSTAINED RECOVERY
